Without any fault of the Plaintiff he abandoned her in Monroe Co - (usual wording) and left for the State of Texas where he remained some months. He then returned to Monroe Co. She swears she was a dutiful wife, etc. They have not lived together since. She is a bona fide resident of Monroe Co - all her life. He is also. Age 41, resident of Monroe Co. Mother of Cora; says her daughter was married to defendant some years ago, married at her house; she was present. Couple lived at her house all the time except about 3 months. Defendant left her; it was his fault. He moved to Texas immediately after he left her and remained there until last December or January, then came back here. He had begun to neglect her and didn't provide for her. Daughter has been living with her since then. Since defendant came back he stays away from her and doesn't provide for her. Daughter was greatly troubled for a long time after he deserted her. He had left her about the middle of March 1887. She doesn't think it was her daughter's fault. /s/ Sarah B. Shipley. W. H. Maxey, location and time not shown. 42 years old, lives Flippin, druggist. Knows both parties, about 10 years; repeats their marriage. Lived in his neighborhood for some time in the vicinity of his residence; they lived with her mother about 1/4th of a mile from me. Plaintiff always seemed very good and kind to him. Plaintiff seems to be a woman of delicate health, still lives with her mother. Defendant is talking about going back to Texas.
