Naval Archivists discover Trove of Previously Unknown Photographs from Spanish-American War of 1898 A wooden box recently found at Washington Naval Yard storage space contained 150 glass plate photos showings scenes from Manila, Philippines, during the Spanish-American War. The wooden box was filled with 150 original glass plate photos, individually wrapped in tissue paper, including full captions and dates, which were likely prepared by the photographer, Douglas White.
