    3. I am researching Hannah Ford (1802 TN.) and John S. Smith (1800 VA) who married in Kentucky 17 June 1821. There were 14 children from this marriage. I think (?) my families were in Monroe County until between 1821 and 1832 when they were found in Harrison Co. IND. John's middle name might be Steward (John Steward Smith). My great-great grandfather James Monroe Smith was born in KY. 15 April 1829. Donna F. Bowen dfbowen4645@gmail.com

    3. Donna, I am also coping my reply to the SOUTH-CENTRAL-KENTUCKY list as there are several several researchers there who may be able to help you as well. I'm afraid I don't know anything about the Smiths but I may be able to direct you regarding the Fords. Your Hannah Ford MAY belong to a group of Fords originally from Anne Arundel/Baltimore County, MD, who subsequently moved to East Tennessee (mainly Sullivan and Washington Counties) after the Revolution. around 1852 there was a mass migration of these Fords and related families to Monroe County, KY, however about thirty years or so before this two brothers belonging to this group settled in Monroe County. These men were Thomas Ford and Loyd Ford, sons of Thomas and Nancy/Nackey (Wood) Ford. The younger Thomas married Margaret Chapman and had a number of children of which only about 4 have been identified. His brother Lloyd married Patience Colgate Billingsly and had several children but again not much is known of their family. Your Hannah seems to be too old to be a child of either of these men but it is possible she was a sister who perhaps moved there with them and subsequently married. Their parents died in Roane County, Tennessee. I have not searched those records thoroughly and they may hold the answers you are looking for. Phil C. Phillip Rhoton, MD 420 S.
