    3. There are some surnames that we study diligently, while other surnames tend to filter into the mix little by little over a period of time. The Fitzgerald line keeps finding its way into my database, and I now have quite a lot on the Mudlick (Monroe Co) Fitzgeralds. There is another Fitzgerald clan that originated in the Center Point area. As far as I can tell they have different origins. The Fitzgeralds have for the most part modified their name to Geralds (Gerald, Gearlds, etc) through the years and some families seemed to have switched back and forth during the 1800s in Monroe Co. It is not always clear which is the best version to use for a given individual. The progenitors of the Mudlick clan were 3 siblings from Washington Co, TN, whose father was a George Fitzgeralds, about whom I know nothing. They were 1. Mary Jane Geralds 2. Akin Geralds 3. William "Randolph" Gerald (often called Rudy) Mary Jane Geralds married Mahlon Jones in Washington Co, TN, and they came to Monroe Co around 1822. Akin Geralds married Jane P Colley and they came to Monroe Co about 1835. Rudy Gerald married Molly Hunt, went to Sullivan Co, TN, for a while and then to Monroe Co in the 1850s. I have printed out a descendancy chart for this line and it can be viewed at http://www.public.asu.edu/~moore/files/fitzgerald/geralds.txt If you are interested in the Geralds of Monroe County, then you may wish to comment upon or make corrections to this data. 3. I am not a skilled genealogist but, nonetheless, I am trying to learn more of my Hunter family, who came to Hart County, from Monroe County. My maternal grandmother was Huldah Hunter (Barrons,Barns, Barnes). She was born 1859 and died 1941 in Hart County. I do not know where in Monroe County they lived. I do not know if they came to Monroe County before the survey placed Monroe in Kentucky, not TN. I know this isn't much to go on, but any information or suggestions on how to research this, would be very helpful and very much appreciated. Gordon Crump Columbia,KY
