Posted on: [email protected] Years of searching for the name of my great great grandmother ended today. It has been a very frustrating search yet has been worth all my time and effort. I am thrilled. My great great grandmother was Peggy Elizabeth ADAMS of Macon Co, Tn. I received today from the Social Security Administration in Baltimore, MD a copy of my great grandmother, Ethel Estelle Brooks Turner's, original s.s. application filled out by her in 1945. She lists her father as Thomas Harrison BROOKS and her mother as Peggy Elizabeth ADAMS. Ethel was born April 9, 1893. I know that Peggy died shortly after Ethel was born and Thomas remarried and had many children. I have searched google, ancestry, rootsweb and other sources on line but have yet to come up with a Peggy Elizabeth ADAMS. In the book, "Macon County Tn, History and Families" on page 171 under Brooks - Tom (Thomas Harrison) Brooks married first an Adams (Peggy), sister to Bob Adams. Does anyone have anything about a brother and sister, Peggy and Bob (Robert?) Adams in Macon County especially who their parents might be? I would like to thank everyone here who has been so kind to offer advice and help over the years. You know how exciting it is when you add another surname to your list of ancestors. Thanks.
