    2. With the help of the TN Census lookup site, I have found my Arnold Hall, and his parents. The C must have been Caroline, and that is why Arnold names his daughter Caroline Virginia. Then in the 1860 census they spelled the name HALE, I can see why the people who did the index thought it was Hale, and I will attach the census I've found on the message board for Monroe Co. 1850 TN Macon Dist. 6 M432 Roll 888 pg 168 John Hall 33 Male W TN Angeline C Hall 29 Female W TN Arnold Hall 7 Male W TN Amanda M Hall 5 Female TN James F Hall 3 Male TN Martha E Hall 1 Female TN 1860 KY Monroe Tompkinsville M653 Roll 388 pg 110 J. 3. Hi, I was really glad to see that you had found your Halls in Monroe Co. I would never have thought to look under Hale, but the 1860 Monroe Co. Census is really confusing so I'm not surprised. I do have some info about John A. Hall, the father of the your Arnold Hall and his second wife, Elizabeth Headrick Ryherd. Elizabeth Headrick, second wife of John A Hall, is the daughter of Jessie and Eda Headrick whom you will find in the 1850 Monroe Co. census. They came to Monroe Co, sometime in the 1840s from TN. Elizabeth, their oldest daughter probably married her first husband, Lewis Ryherd in TN before the Headrick family moved to Monroe Co, KY. 1850 Census - Jackson Co, TN 910 Sanford Riherd 30 M Anna 25 F Victora 1- F *Lewis Riherd 24 M farming *Elilis 19 F [Elisabeth Headrick, wife of Lewis.] [No marriage record found to confirm this] About the time the Headricks moved to KY this branch of the Ryherds moved to MO. Elizabeth's child, Mary Jane Ryherd was born in MO in 1852. It is believed that Louis Riherd died about this time and that on his death, Elizabeth's father, Jesse Headrick traveled to MO with a team of horses and a wagon to bring Elizabeth and her child back to Kentucky. She married widower, John A. Hall about 1855 in Monroe Co, KY. Their only child is Jenetta Hall, born abt 1870 Monroe CO, KY. She married Wyett Turner about 1890. Mary Jane Ryherd is listed in the 1860 and 1870 Monroe County census as living in the home of her stepfather, John A Hall with her mother, Elizabeth and the Hall children from John's first marriage. An interesting side note - John A Hall was a farmer, and a minister, of what church I don't know. He performed the marriage ceremony of my grandparents, Everett E. Belcher and Sarah Ann Gentry, who married at Emberton, Ky (now Freewill) on April 06, 1905. Everett's mother was Sarah Mandy Headrick Belcher, sister to Elizabeth Headrick Ryherd Hall. You may find other marriages performed by John A. Hall in Monroe County. Hope you find this helpful.
