    1. Re: [KYMONROE] Fords
    2. Doug, I'm happy that you have placed Bill Ford's work on your site. That was 40 plus years of family research that we were concerned was lost. Bill was convinced that Alexander was that father of Lisby Milton Ford. This was on his maternal Ford side, and not mine, I haven't researched that in any detail. He determined this using some of the testimony and other data he discovered. We had a minor disagreement on Mordicia Price Ford's parentage, our paternal side, but both had agreed that it was most likely William. After Bill's death, several things led me to believe strongly that William was the father even though I don't think that Mordicia ever knew for sure who was his dad. In the court case of Lloyd's will, Mordicia Price Ford was ask what his relations to the Fords. He stated "they are my uncles I reckon". Since William was part of this case, he should have said father and uncles. I had already convinced myself that William was the father when statements from Tammy Wells book and while talking to some older Fords in Monroe, I was told that in later years, the daughters of William and Nackey Ford said that Mordicia Price Ford was their half brother. This was apparently something kept quite until well after everybody involved had died. I'm sure, as most Ford researchers, that Leah was the mother and that the name probably came from her father and mother's maiden name. If anyone can add or have another opinion, please reply. Feels good to be in contact with you again, been awhile, Mike
