    3. Thank you for the information. I too have the 1880, 1870 and 1860 census of my 2nd Great Grandparents in Putnam Co. TN. On my copy of the 1880 census, it looks like M. Blankenship was listed as the father-in-law and that is why I could never figure out why people thought Nancy's father was named Bennett since this census showed the name as M. Blankenship. Do you have a copy of the census that says, Mother-in-law? I also have Nancy Blankenship's death certificate and her son, William Cumby gave the information. He must have known who her parents were, but he said unknown. I have been in touch with one of my distant cousins who descended from William Cumby and he hasn't been able to confirm Nancy's parents either. My great grandfather, Hardy Dee Cumby, the youngest of the children, claimed we had Indian heritage and after checking with the Indian Nation in Oklahoma, they did confirm that some Blankenships were Choctaw. Maybe one day I will find more.
