Doug Moore ========================================================================== Please excuse if you receive this message twice, but we have an update on the HERITAGE DAYS planned for April 25-27, 2003 at Old Mulkey Meetinghouse State Historic Park, Tompkinsville, Kentucky. The Park Director has just sent me an outline of the weekend, and I did want to share it with those of you who have been so generous in sending funds and supporting this project. We do invite you to be present and participate in this fun weekend. Friday, April 25: Evening Pioneer dinner at the park in the pavilion - $10. followed by entertainment and a speaker who will tell the history of Monroe County. First Families will be recognized - and that includes the Pennington lineage. Saturday - Park open 10:00 - 5:00 11:00 a.m. Boone-Pennington worship service of 1802 in the meetinghouse. Descendants and families will portray John and Philip Mulkey, their families, and the Pennington clan as they worshiped. Message by Dr. Bob Beck of Fort Worth, TX, a 4th great grandson, testimonies by 4th great granddaughters, old hymns. 1:00 p.m. DEDICATION OF THE HISTORICAL MEMORIAL MARKER to our ancestors. The cast aluminum marker has been ordered and will be in place near the entrance to the park. Photos to be taken of all attending at this event. SAR & DAR and DAC members present (in costume). Richard Pennington was a Rev. War soldier. If you will be able to attend, please let me know. There will be arts and crafts, children's games, and a fine day. Then on Sunday morning, there will be a regular worship service in the meetinghouse. More about that in the program brochure. We want as many as possible to have a part in the activities.
