Is anyone researching the family of MOHLER with variant spellings of Moler and Molar? I am researching the family of Lydia MOHLER who married Daniel ISENBERG in Washington County, TN. April 9, 1819. They settled in Monroe Co., KY. Lydia's younger brother, Henry MOHLER, married Margaret ISENBERG, Daniel's younger sister. Lydia's younger sister, Susanne, married William PICKETT. Lydia's father was Henry Mohler/Molar and her mother unknown. Henry lived in Rowan County, North Carolina and moved to Washington County, TN after 1790. After the death of his first wife, Henry married Margarette ISENBERG ca 1830. Is this Henry and Margarette actually the same people that I have above as Lydia and Daniel's brother and sister?? I have a book titled MOHLER - MURRAY FAMILY by E.M.MOHLER of Sarasota, Fla. and published in 1957. Many of the male names are Henry MOHLER but I don't see that the Henry above fits into it. Thanks.
Hi Gary, I don't know if this will be of any help to you, as I have not researched the Mohler family, but I do have Susannah Mohler's descendants, as she married William Ryherd/Riherd/Richard (not Pickett). Ryherd is a name that has so many spellings it is almost impossible to identify some of the descendants. However, I do believe that Susannah Mohler is Lydia's sister, and that a group of families all left Washington Co, Tn at about the same time and migrated to Monroe Co, KY. Most of these families were related by marriage. The Isenbergs, Headricks, Bacons and Riherds all intermarried in Washington Co, TN and their descendants intermarried in Monroe County, KY. There are hosts of descendants with these names still living there. I am descended from Susannah Mohler and William Riherds daughter Emily Riherd who married Richard Gentry. Here's what I have on the Mohlers from Washington Co, TN. Name: HENRY MOHLER State; County: Washington County, TN Township: No Township Listed Year: 1814 Record Type: Tax list Database: TN Early Census Index Source: WASHINGTON COUNTY, TENNESSEE MARRIAGES MOLER, Lidia marr. ISENBARG, Daniel on 09-APR-1819 MOLER, Susannah marr. RIKERT, William on 11-APR-1819 Would love to hear from you on your Mohler/Moler/Molar research.
