MONROE COUNTY--WILLIAM TURNER William Turner (w.p. 1864, Monroe County, KY) and Frances ____ Turner came to Monroe County about 1828 (tax list), and their family first appears in the 1830 Monroe Census. They were instrumental in founding Bethlehem Methodist Church, and William served as one of its original trustees (1840). This William Turner appears in the 1820 Buckingham County, VA Census--the family profile matches--along with Joseph Turner's family, and the families of Thomas, Charles, and Jesse Hood, all of whom subsequently appear in 1830 Monroe County. 1820 Buckingham lists this William as "So of N."--presumably "Son of Nicholas" (a "William, Sr." also appears in this census). Nicholas Turner appears in 1820 Buckingham, but in 1830 Buckingham, "Nicholas Turner Estate" appears instead. Unfortunately, Buckingham was a burned county, like Monroe. Might there be any descendants or relatives of this Turner family out there who have or know anything about the VA ancestry? Thanks, Charles R.
