    3. Yes I have, thanks all the same, though! I knew chances were slim: they left Fountain Run almost 100 years ago! I love my family, and I love family history, but I tend to be the "black sheep" since I want to know "warts and all"! One of my favorite stories dug up from family history records: this same Jacob Nelson Dial "served" in the Civil War. He signed up with the Union Army the day Lee surrendered to Grant! No records can be found showing him ever reporting for duty anywhere. When he was mustered out, he was listed as AWOL. Then, when he died, his widow applied for a pension! Bless her heart, she was summarily denied. Hmmmmm, can't imagine why!?! When my kids were teenagers and pulled some of their pranks, I would smile and think of old Grandpa Jacob! Apples falling from trees and all . . .
