TURNER DNA ANALYSIS: A descendant of the progenitor JOSEPH TURNER (b. 1790 VA), by way of his son JOSEPH EDWARD TURNER [see Sherry Trosper's website http://www2.tribalpages.com/tribe/browse?userid=trosper&view=0&pid=355&rand=60241], has already been tested for 12-markers, and the results appear at the TURNER DNA PROJECT website. Search/Find on "27650:" http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~turnerdna/ancestorchart10-17-06.html This DNA profile has been assigned to no specific group or line of TURNERS among all of those who have been tested, thus far. There is one perfect match, though, with a descendant of FRANKLIN TURNER (b. 1806, VA)--kit #51229 [look just below JOSEPH EDWARD'S listing on TURNER DNA PROJECT page], sponsored by Barbara Ralston. According to Barbara, FRANKLIN may have been born in Culpeper County, and may have been a descendant of FIELDING TURNER. Barbara is still working on sorting out her VA line, too. If this proves true, it may eventually help solve the Buckingham TURNER line, since JOSEPH (b. 1790, VA) named one of his sons, FIELDING NICHOLAS, according to Sherry Trosper's website. It may also prove useful to test a male descendant of WILLIAM TURNER (b. 1788, VA), using 25 or 37 markers, to help narrow the focus, especially since Barbara's test was for 25-markers and given the apparent branching of TURNER families. best wishes, Charles R.
