    1. [KYMONROE] Early Monroe County Cemetery, Circa 1826-1852

    3. I am looking for a cemetery described to me as being located in Bailey Hollow. This is located between Bailey Creek and Merediths Branch. Suppose to located behind the Dickens place, and was cleaned up some years back, marked mostly with field stones. We have proof now, that those field stones mark the graves of two Revolutionary War soldiers William and Martin Bailey and their wives, Susannah and Elizabeth Bailey. WE live in Missouri, so if any there around Heastand. here is the directions we have:Now to the map. If you look on the map, take highway 163S from Tompkinsville to Hestand then 216 and the Bailey Cemetery is marked as a cemetery on the right before you get to Locust Hill. After Locust Hill there is a road called Meredith Cr. Road on down is Blythe if you look to the left you will see Bailey Branch. I just talked to a lady who was raised down there and she said the hollow near where she was raised was called Bailey hollow. So I asume it was named after our Baileys. She said there is a cemetery down in that area but she wasn't sure where it was. She thought someone had gone in and cleaned it up some time ago. WE have been doing some interviews with older family members who remember visits to this grave yard and it being refered to as where the "old ones" were buried, prior to James P. Bailey donating the Bailey Cemetery in Hestand. So this is circa 1826, 1836, 1849,last burial abt 1852? Any help greatly appreciated, it is hard with us being in Mo., but we do want to preserve the resting places of our ancestors and Revolutionary War Soldiers, we are willing to do what ever it takes to help.
