    1. Re: [KYMONROE] Conflicting Names
    2. Flippin Church of Christ Cemetery and Neal Cemetery in Monroe County, Kentucky are definitely two different cemeteries although they are close to each other. My Monroe County Cemetery book (available from Sandi Gorin) lists the following for these cemeteries: Flippin Church of Christ Cemetery: Located in the church yard at the Flippin Church. Neal Cemetery: Located at Flippin, Kentucky. Close, but not the same...

    1. [KYMONROE] DESCENDANTS OF HANNAH BOONE / PENNINGTON
    2. Looking for any descendants of Hannah Boone (1746-1828) and Richard Pennington (1752-1813) who settled near Mill Creek, Monroe County, in 1798. They raised their children there and some may remain in the county. We as descendants are planning a dedication of a memorial marker at Old Mulkey Meetinghouse State Historical Park to be held next April, and I am accumulating names of those who wish to be informed as we make the final plans to get our 'COUSINS' together for this event. Please respond if you want to be on the list to know more about the reunion/dedication. Nell J. 1. [KYMONROE] Cemetery Lookup???
    2. Hey Listers, Could anyone do a cemetery lookup for me on a Levi McWherter and wife Sarah "Sallie" Betty Lovelady. Both were in Monroe County according to 1880 Census. Old family records state he died 3/23/1896 and she died 12/13/1894. KY Vitals does not have their death certificates. He I believe married a Elizabeth J. Witty 3/10/1895 in Monroe County. I've hit a deadend trying to verify anything past the 1880 Monroe County Census so thought maybe if I could find them in a cemetery somewhere... I may go from there. Anyway, thanks if the lookup can be done. Rick Mc

    1. [KYMONROE] HANNAH BOONE MARKER TO BE DEDICATED
    2. Hannah Boone (1746 - 1828), wife of Richard Pennington (c1752 - 1813), lived in the Tompkinsville, KY area late in their lives, around Mill Creek. They worshipped at Old Mulkey Meetinghouse, where their "preacher" friends from North Carolina, John and Phillip Mulkey led services. As descendants and Pennington family, we are dedicating a memorial marker to Hannah Boone at the Old Mulkey Meetinghouse State Historical Park on: Saturday, April 26 at 2:00 p.m. ANYONE IS INVITED TO THIS EVENT This will coordinate with the dedication events on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the restoration of the historical cemetery and park, which has been accomplished during these past two years. Any cousins and kin who want to join us for dinner the evening of Friday, April 25, may do so. Just let me know you are interested as we complete plans. Anyone who wishes to participate in the cost of this $1500 bronze marker may send their contribution to me at the address below. Each one will receive a photo and brochure for their family archives after this dedication. Hannah was originally interred at the Mill Creek Baptist Church, and we want to honor her memory with this bronze marker. Nell - PRA Member, Group IV J. 3. Hi Gang, I have been told that some of my relatives are buried at Rocky Hill, KY Cemetery, but they have it located in three different counties. Are there cemeteries by that name in Edmonson, Barren and Monroe counties? Does anyone have access to or know of the availability of an index or census of the Rocky Hill, Kentucky, cemetery for either or all of the above?
