    1. RE: [KYMONROE] Adams & Pinckley

    3. Posted on: [email protected] Years of searching for the name of my great great grandmother ended today. It has been a very frustrating search yet has been worth all my time and effort. I am thrilled. My great great grandmother was Peggy Elizabeth ADAMS of Macon Co, Tn. I received today from the Social Security Administration in Baltimore, MD a copy of my great grandmother, Ethel Estelle Brooks Turner's, original s.s. application filled out by her in 1945. She lists her father as Thomas Harrison BROOKS and her mother as Peggy Elizabeth ADAMS. Ethel was born April 9, 1893. I know that Peggy died shortly after Ethel was born and Thomas remarried and had many children. I have searched google, ancestry, rootsweb and other sources on line but have yet to come up with a Peggy Elizabeth ADAMS. In the book, "Macon County Tn, History and Families" on page 171 under Brooks - Tom (Thomas Harrison) Brooks married first an Adams (Peggy), sister to Bob Adams. Does anyone have anything about a brother and sister, Peggy and Bob (Robert?) Adams in Macon County especially who their parents might be? I would like to thank everyone here who has been so kind to offer advice and help over the years. You know how exciting it is when you add another surname to your list of ancestors. Thanks. Gary [email protected] ************************* I think there were 4 children from this union, with two having died before 1900. 3. Good Afternoon, I am seeking any information regarding Jerushia Unknown Curtis. She was born ca. 1796, in South Carolina. I do not know her maiden name. She was last found and identified in Jackson County, Tennessee 875/875 in 1850. Jerushia Curtis is believed to have died in Monroe County, Kentucky. I would love to find a burial record for her or one of the other Curtis' people. John Sissom [email protected] Sola Fida

    1. William H. Butler
    2. In looking at the WWI Draft Registrations for Macon Co TN, I came across William Hale Bulter, b. 2/15/1875, wife Lenna. Does anyone know if this William H. Butler was the son of Braxton and Sarah Huddleston Butler of Macon Co TN? Braxton and Sarah had two other sons, Alexander Clinton and Luther W., who moved to Monroe Co between 1910 and 1930. I haven't found any of these men or their wives in the KDI for Monroe Co, so assume they died and are buried in Macon Co TN Thank you Sharon Tabor

    3. I can't come visit SCKY, as much as I would like to. My Page ancestors were among the early settlers of Monroe and Cumberland Co's. arriving about 1815 or so. I've heard so much about the "Persimmon" Pages, and that area. My branch of the Pages moved on to MO after hiring Boone's son to survey there. I'd just like to see and gawk. I bet I'm not alone in my curiousity. Of course I'm interested in the area in general, landmarks, the old homes if any, cemeteries where Pages are, the church they attended, etc., where they farmed, whether any Pages still live there, etc. I bet someone could make a small fortune if they could get a 1-2 hr videotape put together with commentary by someone knowledgeable having relevant historical and genealogical knowledge. Of course I'm most interested in where the Pages were but the videotape should be more general, maybe mentioning various settlers, and of course showing how it is now. I bet there are teachers thereabouts who would gladly proctor a senior project like this. Could lead to interesting discussions at the historical society as to what to include, etc. I understand Monroe Co. has formed a hist society. Dan

    2. I got this from another List I'm on, but it looks pretty good. You can look at population of the counties, or the cities in the counites for differnet years, and gives other good information. they have a place to veiw the counties, but they don't have any pictures for the counites I' interested in, but if you have some you can send them to the site. you need to click on the link that says cities, and counties to get the inforamtion , there are a lot of links that you maybe able to use also. http://www.searchsystems.net/ -- Teddy List Mom for the Grayson Co Ky List, Brady, Vertrees, Ford, Fulkerson, and Commonwealth http://www.kygenweb.net/pd-res/deford.html
