Parham Defendant: T H Parham Date: 6 May 1890 File No. 143 Plaintiff states they were married in April 1886 in Monroe Co; lived together as hunband and wife about 11 months. Without any fault of the Plaintiff he abandoned her in Monroe Co - (usual wording) and left for the State of Texas where he remained some months. He then returned to Monroe Co. She swears she was a dutiful wife, etc. They have not lived together since. She is a bona fide resident of Monroe Co - all her life. He is also. She prays for a divorce and for general relief. /s/ Flippin & Spear, her attorneys. Depositions: Sarah B. Shipley, taken at the drug store of W. H. Maxey in Flippin on 3 May 1890. Age 41, resident of Monroe Co. Mother of Cora; says her daughter was married to defendant some years ago, married at her house; she was present. Couple lived at her house all the time except about 3 months. Defendant left her; it was his fault. He moved to Texas immediately after he left her and remained there until last December or January, then came back here. He had begun to neglect her and didn't provide for her. Daughter has been living with her since then. Since defendant came back he stays away from her and doesn't provide for her. Daughter was greatly troubled for a long time after he deserted her. He had left her about the middle of March 1887. She doesn't think it was her daughter's fault. /s/ Sarah B. Shipley. W. H. Maxey, location and time not shown. 42 years old, lives Flippin, druggist. Knows both parties, about 10 years; repeats their marriage. Lived in his neighborhood for some time in the vicinity of his residence; they lived with her mother about 1/4th of a mile from me. Plaintiff always seemed very good and kind to him. Plaintiff seems to be a woman of delicate health, still lives with her mother. Defendant is talking about going back to Texas. 1. [KYMONROE] BRADLEY Cemetery, White Co., TN - BUTRAM, BUTTRAM, BUTTRUM, BUTRUM, BERTRAM (etc.), MARSH, BRADLEY.
    2. Anna Bertram via
    3. Greetings to all BERTRAM, BUTRAM, BUTTRAM, BUTRUM, BUTTRUM (etc.), MARSH, and BRADLEY Descendants, Spouses and Researchers! Our biannual spring meeting of the Richard Bradley Cemetery Association in White County, Tennessee has been set for Saturday, April 25th. We will meet at the cemetery at 10 a.m. Central Daylight Time, followed by a short business meeting at a local restaurant and optional lunch with the group. The Richard Bradley Cemetery in rural White Co., Tennessee, about 8 miles from Sparta, is the burial place of our Revolutionary War soldier ancestor, William Butram (II), husband of Sara Patterson and the father of Wayne County, Kentucky's William Bertram. It is also the burial place of another Revolutionary War soldier, Henry Marsh, and the Richard Bradley family. This small historic cemetery was established in 1838. Unfortunately we were unable to meet as planned last fall. This was the first time since our initial Work Day in May 2003 to begin the reclamation of the badly deteriorated, almost forgotten cemetery that we have missed a biannual gathering. Our charter members are aging, some are now deceased. If the cemetery is to be preserved for future generations we need new people to step up to join the effort. Please help if you can. Even if you cannot attend please send money for the grounds keeping (monthly mowing and trimming) and incidental expenses. The treasury is getting low but the grass keeps growing! Contributions may be sent to: Lou Nell Bradley Montgomery, Treasurer Richard Bradley Cemetery Association 1025 Montgomery Road Sparta, Tennessee 38583 The restaurant where we will meet and eat after the visit to the cemetery is Casa Luna Italian Restaurant and Grill at 125 Churchill Drive 38583, is just off Bockman Way, the main thoroughfare; turn at the traffic light at Ed Rogers Chevy dealership onto Churchill Drive. The restaurant has a large and varied menu which includes American foods for those who do not like Italian. William Butram (15 Jul 1759 - 10 Nov 1853) was born in Rowan Co., North Carolina, lived also in Iredell Co., North Carolina, Lee County, Virginia, Wayne County, Kentucky, and finally in White County, Tennessee. He married Sarah Patterson on 29 Jan 1780 in Rowan County, North Carolina. The place of her death is believed to have been Wayne Co., Kentucky but no inscribed grave has been found. William and Sarah Butram were the parents of 13 children whose descendants have scattered across the United States. They include the William Bertram who married Nancy Stinson and is known as "The Father of the Wayne Co., Kentucky Bertrams" as well as the Willis BUTRAM/BUTTRAM who married Elisabeth ____ and whose descendants, are still in and around White County, Tennessee. The latter group spell the surname BUTTRUM because Willis Buttram had a son with lazy penmanship who did not close the a. Please let me know if you plan to join us on April 25th so we can be looking for you. If this will be your first time to visit the cemetery one of us will be glad to meet you before 10 a.m. at the courthouse square. Just let me know in time we can make arrangements with you. Feel free to write to me about the family genealogy . . . any branch and any spelling. I'll answer to the best of my ability or refer you to someone else who can. I have recorded the Bradley Cemetery and its know burials on Find-A-Grave. 3. We have nothing to add at this point. But please keep us in the loop.... I have a piece that gives a hint about HBJ and wife Susan White... As in the issue of their ( youngest child) William Hugh who was apparently named Peter Donnelly Jamison at birth. My husband has. DNA with ancestry.com --/ have one Jamison connection that may be helpful... But unclear -- looking more like a John Jameson rather than the tale directly from the Thomas Jamison family that was murdered by Indians inPA ( Mary of the Seneca tribe)--- I think he should now submit for male line ( direct father to sons ) Y-DNA... One is FamilyTreeDNA. Any other male Jamison DNA participants out there? Jamie Fraser Jamison ( spouse of Rodney Jamison-- direct descendent of known Hugh Black Jamison to William Hugh ( Mansy) then Charles Hugh -- his grandfather Sent from my iPhone
