    3. Thanks for sharing Barbara. I am not a Shaker descendant but was interested enough to visit that place in 2002 on a research trip to Kentucky. We stayed in one of the houses that had the rooms upstairs and during the day there was a wood worker doing his thing on the bottom floor. Good thing we are early risers as he showed up for work at 8:00 am sharp and started banging away. I use a cane when walking out and about and it is a very special one my sister gave me. (I have MS) He took it and made a replica of it. Very nice man. We stayed for a week and used it as a local residence while researching the area. What I really liked was to look out our windows and see the horses (BIG horses) in the pasture next to our house.. We were there for the sheep shearing which was interesting. The food was fantastic and we ate there every night we were there. We had the same table every night at 7:00 pm. It was an experience I wont forget even though I thought their beliefs were a bit creepy. To each his own!!!! Take care, Fern in Colorado I am researching the families of BUFORD - McCLUNG - McDOWELL - CRAIG - ROBERTSON - DUKE to name a few. ----- Original Message ----- From: <bobbeo60@yahoo.com> To: <KYMERCER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 17, 2006 1:38 PM Subject: [KYMERCER] Re: Shaker Records & Mercer Co.
