Born April 15, 1956 in Danville, she was the daughter of Jack and Joyce Anderson Duncan of Junction City. She was employed as an assistant director by the Harrodsburg Board of Education’s Family Resource Center and a graduate of Boyle County High School. She was a former coordinator of the Bluegrass Community Action Agency in Lincoln County, a former Whirlpool employee and was an artist, craftsperson, seamstress, painter and woodworker. Survivors, in addition to her parents, include: her husband, Mike R. Qualls, Burgin; four sons, Michael Lee Qualls and Samuel Ray Qualls, both of Burgin; John Edward Qualls, Danville, Randolph Scott Qualls, Winchester; one sister, Benida Gordon, Hustonville; six grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 16, at the Burgin Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Hamby officiating. Burial was in the Burgin Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dewayne Dennis, Tommy Joe Dennis, David Hatfield, Joe Osbourn, Bo Goodlett, Frank Edwards, Kelvin Hundley and Robbie Vandiver. Honorary bears were close friends. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Burgin Baptist Church and Fibromayalgia research. (HH Thu Oct 18, 2001)
