A native of Lebanon, she was the widow of Edwin B. Hanks and daughter of the late Forest and Felice Benedetti Stone. She was a customer service representative with Adelphia Cable Co. in Lawrenceburg for 21 years and a 1947 graduate of Cardone Visitation Academy. She was a member of Sand Spring Baptist Church and the Homemakers Sunday School Class. Survivors include: two sons, Edwin B. (Della) Hanks, Jr., Danny (Janet) Hanks; two daughters, Beverly (Allen) Sparrow, Anita (Frank) Batten, all of Lawrenceburg; her step mother, Leola Stone, Lexington, two half brothers, Jimmy Stone, Prospect, and Forest Stone Jr., Lexington; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou Johns. Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 22, at Sand Spring Baptist Church with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial was in Sand Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Eddie Hanks III, Chris Hanks, Jeremy Hanks, Jason Sparrow, Chad Sparrow, Frank Batten IV, Chad Morgan Batten, Brandi Daniel Batten, Katrina Boggs, Melanie Hanks, and Stacy Armstrong. Honorary bearers were Tom Jones, Chris Lawson, Tommy Anness, Bill Elliott, Steve Keebortz, Richard Sparrow, Tim Lewis, Clay Peavler, Tim Nichols, Scott Huff, John Ransdell, Mike Dewolfe, Gary Coffey, Dennis Lester and Mark Harlow.
