Born February 24, 1915 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Elmer and Matilda Semones McGinnis. He was the widower of Bernice McGinnis. He was a farmer and a member of Bethel #1 Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include: one son, Bill McGinnis, Los Fresnos, TX and one grandson, Robert Allen McGinnis, TX; and a half brother, Ray McGinnis. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Warren and Daniel McGinnis and one sister. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 16, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. James Byrd officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Buddy Daughtery, Charlie McGinnis, Bobby Burchett, David Taylor and Bob VanArsdall. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 7:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. (HH Thu Aug 16, 2001)
