Springate, 88, formerly of Riverside Drive, Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001 at the Charleston Health Care Center in Danville. Born June 9, 1913 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Bob and Dora L. Hurst Dean and the widow of William Pearson Springate. She was retired from Cricketeer and was a member of the Harrodsburg Church of Christ. Survivors include: a son, Robert P. Springate of Danville; a brother, Maurice Dean of Mercer County; a sister, Mrs. Harold (Eudora) Sutherland of Harrodsburg, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Francis Springate. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight (Thursday) and after 7 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. (HH Thu Oct 11, 2001)
