Born July 30, 1932 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Willie Lee Ison and Adella Humber Ison. She was the widow of Paul VanDyke. She was a homemaker, member of the St. Paul Predestinarian Baptist Church and a member of the St. Paul Women’s Club. Survivors include: three daughters, Penny (Davey) Logan, Midge (William) Ison, and Beatrice Perkins, all of Lancaster; four sons, Paul (Margaret) VanDyke, Curt Ison, Butch Ison, all of Lancaster, and Melvin (Liz) Ison of Harrodsburg; one brother, Anderson Ison, Lancaster; two brothers-in-law, Allen (Jackie) VanDyke, San Jose, CA, and Jean (Audrey) VanDyke, Seattle, WA; seven sisters-in-law, Jeanette Ison, Lancaster, Lilly Berry, Gloria Bowman, Dessie Brown, Mary Owens, Geneva Penman, Arnetta Bottoms, all of Harrodsburg. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 4, at St. Paul Predestinarian Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Bowman officiating. Burial was in Lancaster (Duncantown) Cemetery. Pallbearers were Cedric Leavell, Brunell West, Simon Norris, Cecil Dunn, James Franklin Warren and Taylor Leavel. Honorary bearers were William Hocker, Willie Mitchell, John Penman, Michael Logan and James Buford. Ramsey Funeral Home, Lancaster, was in charge of arrangements. (HH Thu Aug 9, 2001)
