Born May 31, 1934 in Williamson County, TX, he was the son of the late Virgil L. and Oletta Davis Moore. He was a horse trainer and the founding president of United Professional Horseman’s Association, the founder of the UPHA Benevolent Horse Trainer’s Fund, director of the American Saddlebred Horse Association, member of the American Horse Show Association and a member of the American Road Horse and Pony Association. Survivors include: three sons, Mason T. Moore, Harrodsburg, Gary Moore, Burgin and Eugene Moore, Palatine, IL; two daughters, Melissa A. Moore, Versailles, Melinda Moore, Harrodsburg; one sister, Jewel Nickels; eight grandchildren, two step grandchildren; one great grandchild and two step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Virgil Moore. Memorial services were held Sunday, September 23, 2001 at Arrowhead Farm, 685 Handy Pike, with Father Joe Muench officiating.
