Besl, 78, Harrodsburg Road, Danville, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001 at his residence. Born Jan. 9, 1923 in Cincinnati, OH, he was the son of the late Frank J. and Clare Bertke Besl. He was a WWII Army Air Corps veteran and a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. He was a former president of Besl Transfer Company, former owner of Besl Corporation and Dobosco and had been a director of the North Side Bank and Trust Company, all of Ohio. Survivors include: his wife, Carol Ruthemeyer Besl, Harrodsburg; three daughters, Deborah A. Streiter, Phoenix, AZ, Theresa M. Collier, Hamilton, OH, and Jill Besl, Danville; one son, David P. Besl, Beavercreek, OH; two brothers, Frank Besl and Robert Besl, both of Cincinnati, OH; two sisters, Mary Gandenberger, Cincinnati, OH, and Audrey Saunders, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred and William Besl. Memorial services were held Tuesday, Oct. 9 at the St. Andrew Catholic Church with Father Joe Muench officiating.
