Born September 2, 1910 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Andrew and Sarah Mayes Lester. He was a member of Bruner’s Chapel Baptist Church where he belonged to the Senior Men’s Sunday School Class, was a farmer and a long time resident of the Rose Hill Community. Survivors include: his wife, Prilia Hungate Lester, Harrodsburg; one son, Roger Lester, Harrodsburg; one daughter, Helen Claunch, Boyle County; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 8, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Don Reed and Rev. Larry Redding officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were J. W. Logue, Kermit Logue, Tom Nichols, Llewellin Peavler, Sam Devine, Ezra Tatum, Jr., and Eugene Mayes.
