Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/gBB.2ACI/2880.1 Message Board Post: The Harrodsburg Herald Friday, September 24, 1943 William Allen Lawson, 83, died Friday, September 17, 1943, about 6:30 a.m. at the home of his son, Raymond Lawson, and Mrs. Lawson, of Depot Street. He lived in his own home on Perryville street, but had been visiting the family of his eldest son, where he passed away. He was the son of the late Allen and Phoebe Lawson and was born April 10, 1860 and was a splendid gentleman and representative citizen. His wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Peach Lawson, died four years ago, and he is survived by four sons, Raymond, Luther, and Marshall Lawson, of Harrodsburg, and Walter Lawson, of Norwood, O., twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves one brother, Joe Lawson, of Washington county. The funeral was at 2:30 Sunday afternoon at the Bethel Presbyterian church, on the Perryville road, where he had long been a devout member. Services were conducted by the Rev. Joe Furkins, of Campbellsville, and his pastor, the Rev. Ezra Jewell. Burial was in the Bethel cemetery,! the bearers being Roy Semonis, Marvin Nichols, Gilbert Nichols, William Catlett, Milton Catlett and Leon Catlett.
