Born in Salvisa, she was a veteran of WW II serving as a surgical technician. After the war she was employed by the University of Kentucky, having worked there for 40 years in the Department of Veterinary Science, retiring in 1991. Survivors include: one sister-in-law, Tillie Ransdell, Randleman, NC; one nephew, Steven (Robin) Ransdell, Randelman, NC; one niece, Nancy (Michael) Magnine, Amery, WI. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 18, at the Cross Road Retirement Community. A memorial service will be held in Lexington at a later date, with graveside services in Harrodsburg. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, MAA, Memorials and Tributes Processing Center, PO Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216.
