Born August 13, 1937, at Mackville, he was a son of the late Ruel and Jewell Shewmaker Keeling. He was a charter member of the Lebanon Christian Church and served as board member and elder. He was a U. S. Navy veteran and a retired employee of the General Electric Company of Louisville. Survivors include: his wife, Carol Morris Keeling, Springfield, two daughters, Vickie Vance, Maysville, Sheila Keeling, Springfield; two brothers, Morrison Keeling, Louisville, and Leon Keeling, Harrodsburg; three grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday, July 29, at the Carey and Son Funeral Home in Springfield, with Bro. Bud Owen officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg. Pallbearers were Rick Mattingly, Rick Rice, Rick Reed, Rick Moore, Chris Shewmaker and Johnny Nelson. Honorary bearers were Ralph Hoppes, Carl Hardin, Jim Chelf, John Paul Mardis, Wayne Hancock and James Bell. (HH Thu Aug 02, 2001)
