I do not have a source listed for this but I know it came from John P. Renfree. As I remember his data on Lewis' children came from a Bible record, but I do not have that noted either. Another clue that points to the James that married Nixon as not being a son of Lewis is the names of this couples children and grandchildren. I did not find one Lewis, Milly or Charles listed amoung their desc. Also, William and John are common given names in our line. You might want to search our Lewis Powell line yourself for further clues, but I sure would not set James that married Margaret Nixon as a son of Lewis without some firm documentation to back up this assumption.
