Thomas married Mary Powell, daughter of Lewis Powell on Febuary 8th, 1827 in Mercer County, Kentucky. Below is a marriage Bond: Marriage Bond Know all men by these present that we Thomas Martin & Lewis Powell----------are held & firmly bound unto the commonwealth of Kentucky on the final sum of fifty pounds current money to the payment of which well & duly to be made unto said State we bind ourselves our heirs & to ? firmlly & severally formely by these present sealed with our seals & dated this 5th day of Febuary 1827. The Condition of the above obligation is such that whearas there is a license about to issue for a marriage intended to be solomnized between the above bonds of Thomas Lallary Powell (May be Dallary) -------now if there be no lawful cause to obstruct sd marriage ? the abov obligation to be void Else to remain in full force & virture Thomas Martin seal.... SOURCE Mercer County, Kentucky Marriage Records, 1800-30 Vol. II-III, and Marriage Records of Mercer County, Kentucky 1816-1830, Marriage Book 1, page 336 Thomas and Mary continued to live in Mercer County and when Boyle County was created out of Mercer County ther property fell into Boyle County KY. Thomas and Mary had 11 children. Thomas Martin and his family, except for the oldest son Lewis, left Kentucky for the Missouri frontier in 1854, settling in Nodaway County, Missouri. Thomas Martin died on January 17th, 1857, Desperatly seeking a valid connection for Thomas to his parental family in Mercer County, Ky. Thank You Craig Campbell
