Hello, I was wondering if anyone could tell me about Mercer County KY? What I am interested in is the time period from about 1820-1840. My family for sure was living there during this time, although it could have been earlier, I can only trace my line back that far. But I would really like to find info on what the landscape was like during this time, what the farmers were doing at this time, the economy, what was going on during this time. When doing genealogy, I like to give a person MORE than a date and name, but an insite to who they actually were and what their lives were like. If anyone out there can fill me in on what Mercer County KY was like during this time of 1820-1840 it would help me out a lot understanding what my Gr Gr Grandfather was really like and what his life was like there.
