It was a mess and the Mayes monuments were at the bottom of the clump of trees. I smiled when I thought of you from California in that remote seeming place and in that pile of briars. I wish we could get it cleaned up and also get a monument. I know you can get one for Civil war soldiers, surely that have them for Rev. war if we could prove he was in the war.
