    1. How can I find out how someone got a piece of land on the Chaplain Fork?
    2. I would like to find out how Henry Sinnett got the land that is mentioned in the deed book detailing the sale of Richard Sinnett's land to John Kirkland. There has to be some conveyance of the land to Henry Sinnett from Richard. Hopefully the conveyance says that Richard is giving Henry Sinnett, HIS SON, the land. Beautiful dream I know, but that is the hope of all Genealogists. Does anyone have any suggestions? Has Chaplain Fork changed Counties, or is it still in Mercer County. On October 31, 1825 Henry Sinnett owned land on the Chaplain Fork, at this time the land was in Mercer County. Mercer County, KY Book 13 page 472: This Indenture made this 31 day of October 1825 between Richard Sinnett and Polly his wife of the County of Mercer and State of Kentucky of the one part and John Kirkland of the same County and State ...assigns forever three parcels or tracts of land lying and being in the County and State aforesaid on the waters of the dry fork of Chaplin it being the same land on which the said Sinnett now lives containing in all two hundred and thirty acres an borders as follows to wit: 3rd Tract Beginning at HENRY SINNETT's corner ...(to) Doran's Original line thence (to)...Carmichel's original line along the ridge westward to a black oak corner to HENRY SINNETT and with his line south 200 poles to the Beginning. I would really appreciate some thoughts on how to find this conveyance? Candee Hoff

    3. Candee, Chaplain Fork is STILL in Mercer Co, KY It is located between Harrodsburg on the east and Washington County on the west. Harrodsburg, Mercer County has a very fine Annex where all of those old deeds are housed. If you live near there - you can go in any weekday between 8 - 4:30 and do your own search (they have indexes as well) Or you could seek the assistance of the Harrodsburg Historical Society for additional deeds. Good luck, Barb Terhune GenealogySix@aol.com wrote: > I would like to find out how Henry Sinnett got the land that is mentioned in >the deed book detailing the sale of Richard Sinnett's land to John Kirkland. > >There has to be some conveyance of the land to Henry Sinnett from Richard. >Hopefully the conveyance says that Richard is giving Henry Sinnett, HIS SON, the >land.
