I found a Lincoln County militia roll that has your Nathan Lyn listed as active March-April 1781, and several other names known to be associated around McAfee Station including McAfee men as well.(At this time all this area was Lincoln County) An account of the attack on McAfee Station is found in the writings of Robert B. McAfee, and a list of defenders is also available, Nathan Lyn is not listed in either of these. However, the McAfee account describes the relief party arriving and driving the Indians away, in further pusuit an ambush was made at the Salt River and 1 man was killed. Nathan Lyn was known to be in area, and known to be a militiaman, and all of the other known responders were also milita at one time or another. Since your date and location of death is May 9th 1781 at McAfee Station, I am convinced that he was the 1 man killed at the river. Please respond with comments Luther D.
