I'm looking for the family of Noah Henry REDNOUR b. ca1805/12 VA. >From family info it would seem that he parents /grandparents were from the Black Forest Region of Germany.....Alsace area of Germany. Also from the info I have obtained, Noah Henry was a Chairmaker by trade. I do not have a definate dod for him but believe it to be ca1863 time frame possibly in KY or VA, depending on who's family lore you listen to. Noah's age is a question as the census records I have on him are very different on his age.....he actually got younger by the years?? So that is a estimate of dob for him. The first record of Noah Henry I have is his marriage in Orange Co.IN: Permelia C. Haden......Noah Redenour......29 May 1845.....Bk.C-2 page 143 There is a second listing as such: Permelia Haden....Noah Redonowe....same date...bk.C3 page19.......so as you can see, the name can and was spelled many different ways. Permelia's name was HAYDEN and she was b. 25 Jan 1830 Mercer Co.KY. Were his parents living in Orange Co.IN or close by in another county?? Did they remain in VA?? Did he come to IN by himself?? They next lived in Monroe Co.IN, then moved on to their final home in Owen Co.IN, Franklin Twp, a town called Freedom,IN.
