    1. [KYMERCER] Re: John and Jane Stansal Harrod
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Harrod Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/gBB.2ACI/2828.1 Message Board Post: I have no knowledge of a Kentucky connection, however, my wife has people in her SC line that look like a perfect match for your post. John Samuel Harrod b. ca 1817 of Barnwell and Beaufort Districts, SC married (1) Michael Moye and (2) Jane Agusta Stansell b. ca 1824 (her real name may have been Jacintha, after her mother). In the 1850 Barnwell District Census, John and Jacintha have John's son by his first wife, George, living with them. In the 1860 Beaufort District Census, John and Jane have five children, Jane Rebecca (possibly also originally named Jacintha), Julia Anna, Mary Ellen Bruce, John Stansell, and Pauline Rachael. The last child of the family was born after the 1860 census and was (according to family notes) Walker Price. Same notes say he married Eva Limehouse. My wife's ggrandfather, Myrick Javan Hethington, was married to both Jane Rebecca Harrod and (late in life) to Mary Ellen Bruce Harrod Rowell. How many Walker Price Harrods can there be? Hampton County did not exist until about 1876, but it was formed from pieces of Beaufort and Barnwell. so the location seems correct. I have some Stansell information, but not much on Harrod. Only piece that doesn't seem to fit is your note about John and Jane living in Harrodsburg, KY ca 1860-1910. Not likely. Their descendants seemed to have stayed around the Carolina Lowcountry.....so I don't think the parents uprooted to KY. Of course, after the Civil War, anything was possible.
