Laura, The Early KY Landholders, 1787-1811 page, only shows M. Marshall as prior assignee. This was for land on Rolling Forks (Forkland) with dates from 23 July 1800 to 30 July 1806. There was a Benjamin White for Casey Co. KY on 18 Aug 1807 and for 1808 on Fishing Creek. Prior assignee was a White. The Forkland boundary changes from county to county shows residents of once Mercer Co. as "now residents of Casey Co. KY. They were owling (1st name not shown on page), Arthur Northcut, George White, Matthew Coulter, John C. Goode, Ephriam Cunningham, John Gee, Jacob Johnson, George Hunter, Martin Conder, Charles Kirkland, Leonard Taylor, William Hewenton, Thomas Hutchison, Thomas Shannon, Matthew Flory, William Sealet, William Clements, Arthur Jones, John Christian, Henry Harper, William Taylor, Jacqueline Ambler Lewis, and William Tabb. This area was 3 1/2 miles from the southwest corner of Mercer Co. I am having a problem with some of these surnames. Hutchinson appears on the! same page as Hutchings (and in will of George White, 1824). Hewenton is anything from Howenton to Howerton. Sealet becomes Seals and Sears. Tabb becomes Tibbs in some things--and back to Tabb. I know the English pronounced the river Thames as Timmes. There is the Tamme farm. Our McGinnis family cemetery sits on the Tamme farm land (once owned by William McGinnis. So, English Tabb may be Tibb. I have a feeling there may have been more than one George White in early Casey-Lincoln-Mercer Co. KY. The land holder page shows George White getting land on 25 June 1787, with prior assignee as ? White. Thomas Hutchings, Henry Harper, Jacob Johnson, Jacqueline Ambler Lewis (m. Eliza Hutchings), Thomas Shannon were in will of George White. The Hutchings line was heavily connected to the Blagrove/Blagrave line. Jacqueline Ambler Lewis may be associated with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court line of John Marshall. Just an assumption on that one. I have tracked these peop! le to Lunenburg and Washington Co. VA. I am certain George White m. E unice Dungans in 1795 in Washington Co. VA. I am currently in the process of locating documents for them. Also, George White bound out his sons (except for James) to learn trade or business. George Washington White was bound on 6 Sept 1824 to Elijah and Jane Rains Webster. Jane is from the Rains and Ownes line---and the Owens appear to have been in Washington Co. VA. Benjamin Logan was there also. If anyone has Nathan, William, John, Andrew, Eson, and Ely White in family lines would love to know. At this time, it appears that Nathan W. was living with James Craften family---and removed to Spencer Co. KY--where he married Eliza Jane Craften. Eson lived and died in Mercer-Casey Co. KY. He married Cyrena Coulter. I can find nothing on other sons and daughters, Catherine, Isabel, Esther, Salley, Polly, Patsey, Nancy. I have a feeling they were step-daughters---or born to wife Jane after 1820 and before 1824. Some of these family lines go into Crawford Co. IL (from IND and ! OH) about 1850s--the same time my George Washington White appeared in Crawford Co. IL. Elijah Webster d. in 1826 in Mercer Co. KY, so suspect George W. was living with another family after Elijah's death---possibly James rains and Nancy Owens Rains. Harrodsburg-Mercer Historical Society has not marriage for George White. they do have a marriage for Henry White to Elizabeth Rossen in 1808 and John White to Lucinda White, 2-27-1817. I believe John and Lucinda to be in the line of Stephen White and Agatha Bramblett. In Crawford Co. IL, the name of Bramblett becomes Bramble. Sure would like to find out who the Benjamin and Henry White were. Just two more names to add to the state of near insanity. I know the George W. White in Casey Co. 1830 and 1840 Census as Head of House is not mine. Nor is Randolph White and James White. George W. was s/o James White--and my understanding they removed to Overton Co. TN. I think James was m. to Linday Graham (marriage page I have), 3-16-1815. Also, Henry White disappears. Am wondering if the name of Rossen was Rosser or Ross at some point. One Hezekiah White m. Susan Jackman in Mercer Co. abt. 1809. They removed to Howard Co. MO--and divorced--or Hezekiah died. Susan remarried into what appears to be an influential line. I found a Hezekiah White in! Montgomery Co. VA (next to Washington and Smyth Co. VA) in Daniel Triggs Co., Rev. War. There is a page that shows variations in spelling of names. Hezekiah was Herckiah and Herckekiah White. Richard White was Whitt and White. I believe this Hezekiah to be the one who m. Susan Jackman. Aren't I having fun now!! Would you believe the surname of Benjamin was Bingaman. Just hoping someone will have a name that appears in this posting. Each little thing helps me. Shari
