I think he is the son of Peter. Then I need to find a Carl Garfield Jordan whom I believe is the son of Jefferson Jordan. Carl's 1918 draft registration states his nearest relative is John S Jordan in Franklin, Johnson, IN. Carl was born Feb 25 either 1884 or 1883, possibly in Franklin, Frankfurt KY. From the census information I have found it appears John Seymour Jordan is the son of Jefferson, who is the son of Peter. I suspect Carl is a brother to John Seymour Jordan. Oral tradition states that Carl left home at 16. So he is not with Jefferson for the 1900 census, and of course there is no 1890 census.
