Wilmore, 1871-1950, of Harrodsburg, KY, a descendant of John Wilmore 1755-1794 and his wife Jane Campbell 1759-1837. I am also a descendant of this John and Jane Wilmore, through their son John WIlmore, Jr. In a 1932 letter to a cousin of hers, May Wilmore referred to the Bible as being her Aunt Hannah Wilmore's Family Bible which was then in her (May's) possession. May was unmarried as was her sister, Sallie L. Wilmore 1872-1955, and they both lived in Harrodsburg, KY. So far, I have been unable to locate a copy of the Family Bible birth and marriage records or determine the current location of the Bible if some relative has it. The Bible family records have been used as a reference for lineage society applications, but the whereabouts of current record copies or the Bible itself is unknown to me. If someone knows how these can be located, please provide a posting to let me know.

Polly(waddle) and Cornelius Demaree had two children Nancy who married James c. Williamson and Sally who was born in 1814. No information is known about Sally(I think both polly and Sally died while Polly was giving birth to sally). I also found that Thomas Gilkerson became the guardian for both John and James. John was awarded to Thomas on April 1,1816, and James was awarded to Thomas on Oct. 7,1816, in Mercer Co. Ky.

You could spend days and days reading all the information. They truly have done such a wonderful job. I would really encourage everyone to take a look, even if you aren't related to the Crow family. They've included quite a bit of historical information, which is very interesting to read, as well. Looking forward to hearing from you, Carlene. Email is just fine! Julie

I just recently found the site and have it "bookmarked", but I have not had time to truly study it. You are so correct; it is wonderful. I printed your message and got your email address from that. I will contact you at that address if it is all right with you. I will do this after I really study the website. Thanks again. You may contact me directly for the next month at carlenebootz@aol.com. After that I will send you my new email address. Thanks.

I descend from James Crow (1744-1819), who was the older brother of your Jacob. There is a wonderful Crow Family Webpage. The amount of information on the site is just incredible. Here's the addy: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~crow2000/toc.htm Maybe you've run across this site, if not, I know you'll have lots of fun looking around. To go straight to Jacob ... you will see at the top of their page "follow our ancestors state to state" .. with a link to Kentucky - click there. On the new page, you will see a link to Jacob. There, you will find Jacob's will. I've just started doing research into my Crow line, but would be happy to help in any way that I can. Have a great day! Julie

Ancestor Hugh Smith had a cave on his property near the Boyle County line, but, neither of the pictures are of that cave. The area of his property was known at the time - 1797 - 1832, as Hugh Smith's corner. Would anyone in historical research know the reasoning behind the name? Judy Smith/Colorado
My *guess* is that two trails or roads went through and intersected near that point. I would appreciate a death lookup for Elizabeth James Utley King b. 11 Jan 1832, Mercer Co., KY. She married an Abraham King 28 March 1860 in Louisville, KY. They were in Gararrd Co., KY but also in Mercer Co., KY. No death or burial location has been found for her in Gararrd. She/they have been very elusive so any help appriciated. Those pictures of the caves are great, but I am unclear on whether you are speaking about Daniel Boone or his brother Squire. In the book by Fred Conway about Squire Boone "The Incredible Adventures of Daniel Boone's Kid Brother - SQUIRE" published IN 1992, second edition 1994; pages 61-80 speaks of the cave where Squire hid from Indians and he considered it Holy Ground because he felt his life was spared because of the cave. He asked to be buried in the cave, and his sons complied. Page 80 says, "This cavern may be seen today on an Indiana hillside two to three miles north of Brandenburg Kentucky. The last years of his life (1804-1815) were spent near Corydon, Indiana, later known as Squire Boone Village. The cave was near there. I do not know if ;your photo is of that cave but it could be. They tell the story that Squire had always wanted to prove live after death. He asked his sons to bury him in the cave, and then to wait at the mouth of the cavern for several hours to see if he was able to contact them. They waited, but no communication occurred.
