When Lily was in Barnes City she kept it in the bench chair that had a lift up lid. She allowed me to read it once because she wanted to know what George knew about it. I told her, George already knew it as Robert Jones had told him, his grandfather was a 'woods colt" and not a Jones at all. George told me in grade school. We had a project where we had to trace our surname back to the country they came to the states from. When I asked him where the Jones came from, he told me they weren't really Jones. Irene Best found the information in the probate or the land records. When you were in Mercer what information did you find that said the three were brothers? email me would you. I'm still at truckheartland@hotmail.com

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/gBB.2ACI/1699.1.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Jill, ny response to Ron Jones was that Allen, Martin & James were brothers. Since I'm sure Martin was Isaac's son, it follows that Allen was also, tho his marriage bond did not list his father. Several years ago, I got an email from Sharon Welch who had been in contact with Wally Crumlett and had much information different that I had found. This may be where you have become confused. When Lily passed her information on to me, the Irene Best Reid material was missing. I did read part of it in Kentucky, however. I haven't been working on genealogy for some time, and since we moved in Nov. to Grinnell, have not looked at it at all except to answer the queries. Let me know if I can help anymore. Evelyb

According to Irene Best's information that she sent Aunt Lily, Allen was the son of Jones's servant girl, surname possibly Martin. Aunt Lily showed me the information when she lived in the house in BC but refused to let me copy it. I think it was from probate records on Jones. I have notes that it was Isaac but then I just looked at a letter from you saying it was Martin. Now it looks like we're back to Isaac. Sorry to be confused. Please enlighten me. Jill

    1. Dorland Book Is Still Alive and Active- Just Delayed a Bit
    2. Hello everyone, An update on the Dorland book by Barbara A. Barth. The book is currently in New York being polished by Harry Macy. Mr. Macy was under the weather for a time period in March, so things have been delayed, however, he is now back to work. Once he has completed his end of things, the book will go the the Indexer and when that portion have been completed, to the Barth publication for publication. So for anyone who thought these things move rapidly, they don't, but the best news it that this will be an excellent and professional publication well worth waiting for and I am sure that you will all enjoy it very much. To date, no price has been set, but as soon as that occurs, I, of course, will let you know. Thankyou for your patience. Judy Cassidy

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/gBB.2ACI/3429 Message Board Post: I believe that my great-great grandfather William Crow was the son of Walter Crow and Sarah "Sally" Myers. Walter was the son of William Crow and Sarah Lawrence. He was said to have been a "pillar of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church". I am desperate to either prove or disprove this!!!! I need the date of birth of Walter's son William to do so. Does anyone know of any possible way to find this out or any other way to make this connection? Both were born in Lincoln County, KY and Walter died in 1821 in Lincoln Co. What, of what, can I do? I have exhausted all that I know! Thanks so to any wonderful person out there who can give me some much needed guidance.
