Lydia and Benjamin. Thanks, Melissa
My great grandfather William Landrum Passmore was born in Ky between 1862-7. We think he was from this area, not sure. Trying to find out if there is a connection to the past Passmores from Mercer Co. I have nothing else to go on as far as names and dates. They say he came from a family of around 13 kids, his father was a musician on the riverboats, and Wm. worked as a cobbler assistant and was a good wood worker. He also got into some trouble with the law and spent some time in jail. When he got out he went on to MO, around Macon Co. We think his mother died about the time of the depression. Thank you. Margie

I have a copy of the published minutes that I received from the author Arthur Benningfield. Billy Minton, who is a member of the church told me there are boxes of old papers from the early church in the possession of the church historian. This person was ill last year when I went to KY to research. I'm trying to get in contact with someone who may let me look thru these documents. I'm trying to find confirmation of who Rev. Rice's wife was and confirmation of his children and possibly his parents. Thanks, Kim

Jan, No, I don't know his parents name, but I do have Nathaniel and Susannah in my files. I ran across their marriage, and thought there must be a connection with my Daniel family, but so far I haven't found it. My Daniel family came to Mercer County, Kentucky from Caroline County, Virginia. Benjamin Daniel married Margaret Brown in Caroline County in 1790. In 1800, Benjamin Daniel was listed on the tax list for Mercer County. He was a member of the Shawnee Run Baptist Church in Mercer County, and sold some of his land to the Shakers. Margaret Brown was the daughter of Berryman Brown and Mary Noel. Benjamin Daniel was (this is in dispute) probably a son of William Daniel and Mary Snead. The problem with this latter claim is that, while several sources show Benjamin as the son of William Daniel and Mary Snead, no primary source has ever been found that shows William Daniel to even have been married to Mary Snead, nor has any primary source been found that establishes Benjamin Daniel as a son of William Daniel. Anyhow, there was a Nathaniel Daniel in Mercer County, and about the same time Benjamin Daniel came to Mercer County. Were they related? Wm was killed, I believe, in the War (1863) and around 1870 Susan married Wm Ravenscraft and at some point moved to Rupert ID where she died about 1914. I still do not have answers as to why they were living in ID and perhaps there were other family members that lived there at the time or perhaps followed this family. Rosa married Rudolph Claus and died in Marion county MO. She is burried next to Rudolph just feet from Lt Wm Bohon and surrounded by familiar Bohon family members. It would appear to be part of a family plot.
