There are three Head of Households listed with the surname of Young, Latham, Armond, and Orin. My Great-Great Grandfather would have been 23 during that census. His name was Thomas Franklin Young, born about 1807 in Mercer County. I still need additional information on him regarding parents and siblings, which the above listed names may be. Possibly Cynthia was a daughter of the one of the above. There were some Terhunes that married into my family, but I would have to research them. Patt Roach of Abilene, Texas is taking orders on WE BOAST OF THE NAME OF BLACKABY, BLACKORBY, BLACKERBY, Volume II, a 777 page book on the history of the name, our first ancestor who came over, his father, and then William I Blackerby, his ancestors and descendants. This is the line in which the name changes to Blackaby and Blackorby. There were Blackaby who lived in the Mercer County, Kentucky area. Her research has covered a 30-year period and includes a trip to England to the Records Center in London. Volume I was published by Catclaw Printing company in 1986. Most of what you see on the internet has come from Volume I. It was a 648 page book, but all copies have been sold. The price of Volume II is $90.00 which includes postage. His Thomas Young m. Amanda Wheeler in 1843 in Mercer Co. I have Cynthia Young m. Abram Terhune in 1843, Mercer Co. and wonder whether Cynthia & Thomas may have been siblings or half-siblings??? I hope, I hope, I hope. I have had no luck after many years' research in identifying her parents and/or siblings. The 1850 Mercer Co., KY census also lists an Almina (?) Young, age 24, living with Abram & Cynthia. I have no idea who she was - *perhaps* a sister of Cynthia. David & Martha appear on the 1850 census for Mercer Co, KY. Both 62 and born in VA. I'm thinking this David is the one referred to as a minor in the will of John Ryan circa 1798-99? My gg-grandfather Adam Henry Ryan was born somewhere in KY, July 1819. He later was living in Knox Co, Illinois but went to Mercer Co Ky in 1848 to deal with a court matter concerning his military pension. Believe he went to that part of Ky because he had family there. David & Martha are of the right age to be his parents and born in VA as Adam stated on later census records.

I would like to know if anyone is familiar with Jacob Phillips. He signed a marriage bond for my ancestors' marriage on 5 Feb 1818 when Joseph Peavler Sr. married Mary Ann Ridge in Mercer Co. This is the first real clue I've gotten for Mary in ages. Does anyone know if I can get a copy of the marriage bond? Thanks very much. Debbie Winchell

T. Young was born December 5, 1846, and devoted the first part of his business life for several years to tanning, but at present is farming with success. His father, Franklin Young, was born in Mercer County about 1807, received a classical education in the county, and devoted the principal part of his life in merchandising in Harrodsburg and Cornishville. His first marriage was to Miss Jane Springer, who bore two children: David and William. is second marriage was to Miss Amanda Wheeler, who became the mother of H. T. Young, who was born in Cornishville, Mercer County, and who was married in 1872 to Miss Jennie E. Linney, a daughter of Hon. G. W. Linney. To this union were born five children: Flora A., George (deceased), Emma (deceased), Cecil, Charlie, Annie. I am looking for information on John Jones, father of Constant Kesiah Jones. This John Jones may have been a Colonel and a surveyor. The information I have is minimal. Constant Kesiah Jones married John McCullough at Harrodsburg, 12-10-1787. I've not been able to find anything on her siblings or mother. John Jones is a name that is repeated many times in KY tax lists. Any information at all on these two would be appreciated. Constant is my 3rd G GM and John Jones would be my 4th G GF.
