http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~brianter/RebeccaReynolds.html Rebecca Reynolds lived 1799 to 1873. She married three times, first to a man who probably was surnamed Carter, second to Abraham Darland, and third to Charles Rubble. She lived in Laurens Co., South Carolina, then in Mercer Co., Kentucky, then Parke Co., Indiana, and eventually in Poweshiek & Mahaska counties in Iowa. The web page dedicated to Rebecca has a picture of her, pictures of a coverlet she made and a photograph of her tombstone. Additional information about Rebecca, her life, her ancestors and her descendants is always appreciated. Hi Hugh: We've corresponded before on the FRENCH family which I still think connects to Frederick Co., VA and Berkeley County, WV but still hunting. Here is a marriage record for Cornelius and other SMOCKS in Mercer County, Kentucky. This might not be his "first" marriage. I'm "cc'ing" this to Richard Swank who has a Godhard SMICK....pretty close to the "Gorhail" listed above if someone couldn't read the writing. Good luck! Hi, Shannon Well, I don't have anything on Aaron at all, aside from a birthdate of 23Jan1779. That sound right to you? Here's an interesting Hoagland tidbit. John Gritton, in his statement to receive his Revolutionary pension, listed Hoagland Fort, PA as an area where he served. I've seen postings that theorize that Elizabeth Hoagland was originally Elizabeth Hooglandt, whose family was originally from NJ. This is a distinct possibility, as groups of people of Dutch descent migrated to Mercer from NJ (Vanarsdalls, Vandivers, and others), but I also think that if anyone is familiar with PA research that the Hoagland Fort lead is worth pursuing. Who settled it, names of family members, etc. Anyway, I'm interested in Aaron's direct line of descent, and also whether you have any Wards, Veatchs (Veitch, Veech, etc) or Lipseys in your line (that goes for everyone else out there, too!!) Thanks a bunch, and let my know when you're ready for any info from me, and what you want!!! Anne :)
