The Muncie Starpress 10/23/03 MUNCIE - Elsie Gregory, 61, Muncie, passed away Tuesday morning at Ball Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Mrs. Gregory was born June 30, 1942, in Stearns, Ky., the daughter of Herbert and Lilly Coffey; she moved to Indiana 43 years ago. She enjoyed painting, sewing, scrap-booking, bowling and spending time with her family. She was a member of Brookside United Baptist Church and was an avid reader of the Bible. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 41 years, Dester Gregory. She is also survivors by two sons Johnny Gregory (wife: Tina), Crawfordsville, Eric Gregory (wife: Kathy), Zeeland, Mich.; a daughter, Denise Briggeman (husband: Fred), Indianapolis; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gregory also has four surviving brothers and three sisters, Daniel Coffey (wife: Wanda), Stearns, Ky., Wanda Burke (husband: Willis Hall), Stearns, Ky., Lois Koger (husband: Wendell), Muncie, Kenneth Coffey (wife: Mable), Stearns, Ky., Kelly Coffey (wife: Janet), Muncie, Bob Coffey (wife: Jan), Stearns, Ky., and Doris Coffey, Stearns, Ky. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Parson Mortuary, with Pastor Hoyt Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Tomlinson Cemetery.
