    3. The Morning Journal, Saturday, January 17,2004 page 7A. Jimmy Waters 01/17/2004 WAKEMAN -- Jimmy Waters, 79, of Wakeman, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004, at his home after a one-month illness. He was born Aug. 25, 1924, in Yamacraw, McCreary County, Ky., and moved to the Lorain County area in 1951. He had resided in Wakeman for more than 20 years. Waters was employed as a sawyer by the Cleveland Quarries in South Amherst for 33 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of Old Fashion Grace Baptist Church, South Amherst, and attended Firelands Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and ATVing. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Ella Delta (nee Maxwell); sons Ernest Waters of Vermilion and Kenneth Waters of South Amherst; daughters Norma Jean Bennett of Conesville and Wanda Jonda of Greenwood, S.C.; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; his brother, Speedy Waters of Amherst; and sisters Bonnie Morris of Peaster, Texas, and Easter Lilly Keene of Planfield, Ind. He was preceded in death by a son and daughter in infancy, Clarence Waters in 1950 and Barbara Waters in 1954; his parents, Nim and Cora Waters (nee Dunagan); brothers Ray, James, Lloyd and Boyd and a brother in infancy; and sisters Etna Waters, Etta Hill, Effie Jones, Elva Waters and Joyce Waters. Funeral services are today at 11 a.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. The Rev. Leon Simpson, pastor of Firelands Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Birmingham Cemetery, Birmingham. Memorial contributions may be made to New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, 5255 N. Abbe Road, Elyria 44035. Carolyn S.
