    1. [KYMCCREA] Thomas C. Marsh from Kentucky
    2. This article appeared in Dallas Morning News, Dallas, Texas, either Sunday or Monday, Dec 2003 Perhaps someone is searching this family. I am not related to this line as far as I know, but feel it may be an important clue for someone searching his line. "Marsh Lane takes name from hunter. This pioneer - a noted hunter - has his name on a middle school and a northwest Dallas lane. He moved from Kentucky to Texas with his family when he was 13 years old. Known as the hunter of the family, lore has it that he killed the last wild buffalo east of the Trinity River. When he came of age, he acquired 320 acres, which he later used for farming and raising cattle. He served in the Confederate Army in Arkansas and what became Oklahoma. He prospered after the war and had about 700 acres in 1892. The Dallas middle school and the thoroughfare are named for Thomas C. Marsh." Submitted by Joyce Holt Taylor

    2. Timothy N. West
    3. I added a small update to the Scott Co, TN website tonight -- the last one for this year. The update is much smaller than I had wanted. I was sick for a week with that dagone flu and then away for a week on business. This week I need to catch up on the honey-do list. Then, next week is Christmas. Hope ya'll have a Happy and Safe set of Holidays. Take Care. ...tim west... Scott Co, TN Coordinator for the TNGenWeb Project http://www.tngenweb.org/scott * Scott Co, TN Books o Updated the index to the Scott Historical Society Newsletters (updated by Claude Cheatham) This is an every name index and covers every issue from Vol 1, No. 1, Fall, 1983 to Vol 21, No. 1, Fall, 2003. The file is a large Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. Because of it's large size, it is contained in a "ZIP" file. You will need to download and "unzip" the file before you can use it. * Scott Co, TN Death Records o Added 30 Headstone pictures from 1893 through 2003 o Add 5 Obituaries from 1974 through 2003 o Added picture of Elizabeth Woods Slaven * Scott Co, TN Picture Help * Added unknown picture 71 * Added unknown picture 72 P.S. If you are interested in helping the USGenNet organization, and ultimately, your Scott Co, TN website, then please visit the USGenNet website and make a donation -- as much or as little as you can afford -- every little bit helps. USGenNet houses the Scott Co, TN website among many other TNGenWeb county sites. From the Scott Co, TN homepage, click on the "Please Support the USGenNet" dollar at the top of the page.
