    3. My friends - Several subscribers have asked recently about information for burials in the Newton Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in McCracken County. I have located this cemetery in my "miscellaneous files" on the several hundred old 5 inch floppies that I mention here from time to time. I have converted it, and it is now ready for distribution. This is a large cemetery, with about 500-600 known burials, and it remains an active cemetery. The earliest birth year that I found was 1808, although there may be individuals buried there who were born earlier, as there are some illegible markers and some markers with no names. Surnames found in this cemetery include Kinsey, Ballentine, Smith, Gates, Roberts, Scoggin, Pugh, Fondaw, Grief(many), Burchett, Price, Glisson, Cunningham, Lindsey, Rudolph, Brewer, Stegner, Cumbee, Matlock, Milner, Mertcalf, Chumbler, Pendley, Holt, Helm, Cooper, Garrett, Thompson, Wood, Matthews, Wallace, McKinney, Holly, Jeter, Jett, Durrett, Stigall, Craven, Hodges, Simmons, Goldsby, Cannada, Allcock, Covington, Crawford, Wiley, Pitt, Haselwood, Burnley, Casey, Joiner, Newbill, Leasor, Myers, Brame, Holliday, Scott, Flint, Tomlin, Graham, Gamble, Wray, Oates, Stearns, Alison, Throgmorton, Ogilvie, Elrod, Pierce, Timmons, Williams, Lanier, Sullivan, Rogers, Morehead, Bass, Billington, McCorckle, Helton, Morrison, Hutton, Reesor, Boren, Cox, Terry, Powell, Ragland, Harper, Hunter, Barton, Shelton, Ray, Arnn, Long, Farmer, Skinner, Earnshaw, Gregory, Drury, Seaton, Duncan, Warford, Hook, Lynn, Foley, Day, Harris, Hankins, Scoggin, House, Edwards, Allcock, Thomas, Lewis, Feezor, Pennebaker, Pittman, Dowdy, Carroll, Wren, Dunn, McElya, Abernathy, Maupin, Weig, Anderson, Keel, Landing, Burnett, Fortson, Alexander, Pippin, Green, Steele, Pack, Austin, Yarborough, Klepfer, Dew, Clark, Snyder, Cannon, French, Cook and Turner. Subscribers to the JP and McCracken lists can obtain a copy of this file by sending a request directly to me. The file is available in Plain Text and Adobe Acrobat PDF formats. The file will be sent as a plain text attachment to an e-mail message unless PDF is specified. Due to the size of this file, it cannot be sent in the message body of an e-mail message("straight e-mail"). It must be sent as an attachment. The entire file will be sent. Time constraints do not permit me to go into the file and extract data about individual families. We will be resuming our regular schedule of data posts tomorrow. I hope everyone had a pleasant holiday weekend. -B =====================================================================
