I am searching for information about my great, grandfather, Green Wiley ARNOLD. I have not been able to locate any new information about the family for several years and I hope that some of you will be able to help. This is what I know: Green Wiley (G.W.) ARNOLD was born August 7, 1818 in North Carolina. He married Rhoda Adaline DOLLAR. The family is listed in the 1840 LaFayette County, MS census. Below is the entry for the 1850 McCracken County, KY Census: Arnold, Green/W/M/31/Laborer/NC Arnold, Rhoda Adeline/W/F/25/NC Arnold, Simeon W/W/M/9/MS Arnold, Nancy/W/F/1/KY William's Paducah City Directory for 1859-1860 lists the following: Arnold, Green, sawyer, w.s. Locust b Norton and George I have not been able to locate the family in the 1860 Census. It is my understanding that Green was killed in a lumber accident in McCracken County, KY on October 16, 1865. He is buried in the Wyatt Cemetery in McCracken County, KY. The following Query from AFAS, Vol 8, page 110. Vol 8 was issed in 1978. Mrs Marie Arnold, RTE. 2, Box 62S, Richmond, Texas 77469- Need the parents of Green Wiley Arnold, born in North Carolina, married Rhoda Adeline Dollar, died in 1863, Paducah, KY. Allied families were the Dukes and Clinton (let's not go there). Green Wiley Arnold's son was Sileon Wesley Arnold and his grandson was James Wesley Arnold., whose son, Moyers Evan Arnold, was Mrs. Marie Arnold's husband, died 1959. Information in early editions of AFAS indicate that Mrs. Justus Harper of Athens, GA might also have researched this Arnold line. Letters to these ladies have been returned to me marked "addressee unknown". Also, if you have editions of the AFAS publications I would appreciate it if you would check for information about this family. I have checked at several libraries in the TN area none have the needed editions. If you know how to contact the descendents of these ladies I would greatly appreciate it if you will let me know.
