    1. [KYMCCRAC-L] New Series - McCracken County Vital Statistics - 1852-59 - Marriages - 1852
    2. Bill Utterback
    3. My friends - Today, we will begin a new series on McCracken County, covering Vital Statistics marriage records in that county in the 1852-59 time frame. I will also be continuing the posting of the 184- McCracken census in future posts. I will also CC a copy of this message to our friends on the McCracken County List. As always, if you see a name that is of interest to you, and would like the full data, please let me know and I will get it to you(this includes, in most cases, the ages of the bride and groom, birthplaces, places of residence, whether single or widowed, and the date of the marriage). As always, use VS records with care - they are not all that reliable, as was illustrated earlier today by a message from one of our subscribers which pointed out an inaccuracy on a marriage in the last Graves County list I posted. The news today on Sandi Gorin is good - she has been up in a chair, although still in some pain, as would be expected after major surgery, and she has regained her sense of humor, poking fun at the food she is being forced to eat<g>. Her doctor has been in and reinforced his opinion with her that the growth was benign, with the pathologist's report due in about a week to confirm that. So things appear to be progressing nicely. As always, there will be no data post tomorrow, although I may pop in with an announcement on more items on the JP Images Page that I hope to upload tomorrow if all goes well. And I will respond to requests for data, as well. -B =============================================================== McCracken County - Vital Statistics Records - Marriages - 1852 Huston, Jeremiah Canada, Martha J. 1. [KYMCCRAC-L] St. John's history book
    2. Fellow McCracken Co researchers, I found that I have a copy of the history book of the church of St. John The Evangelist (Catholic) of Paducah, Kentucky. This book covers the years 1839-1989, and contains many family histories. I am not sure how I got this book, but a person should be able to write St. John's and request one. The following families are listed: Ballard, Champy, Dunaway, Durbin, Englert(Erglant), Felts, Futrell, Gorline, Grief, Haas, Haeseley, Krimple, Lane, Langston, Luigs-Feast, Mornar, Niehoff, Poat, Roof-Waltmire, Scheer, Schmitt, Seitz, Schoulta, Toon, Vinson, Weitlauf, Willett, Woeltz-Kaler, Wurth, Wurtz, Yopp, Younker Other surnames are mentioned in passing as having married into these families, but these are the major families whose histories are listed. If you think you are connected, you can e-mail me privately and I'll lookup your name for you. [email protected]

    2. KDale60909
    3. I have discovered a cache of Page tintypes (in my own basement, no less) that are the first real clues I have on my husband's Page line. They are labeled with names only, no dates or places, but I suspect all three generations were in Kentucky, and at least the most recent was definitely in Woodville and Kevil, McCracken Co, KY. Does anyone recognize these names? Starting from most recent: MINNIE LOUISE PAGE, b. KY (probably McCracken Co.)19 Dec., 1871 m. SHELBY LOVELL DALE (his father, RUEBEN DALE was also living in the area near Woodville when they were married) , 12 March, 1893, at the home of Mr. Joe Hobbs near Woodville, KY. She had about 12 younger siblings, but the only names I have are Will (who died at age 44 in Woodville of typhoid fever) and Russell. Minnie's parents: JAMES WILLIAM PAGE (prob. b. about 1858 ) and HEPSEY LUCINDA TAYLOR. Hepsy Lucinda had a twin sister, MARGARET CLARINDA PAGE MORGAN. Another portrait is of IRENE BERTHA PAGE TREVOLLA(?)--may be James William's sister. There are also tintypes of two young boys, WILLIAM ROBERT PAGE and CHARLES WALTER PAGE, J.W.'s brothers, perhaps? James William Page's parents (b. abt. 1830-35): WILLIAM JOHNSON PAGE and LOUISA JANE SANDERS. Does anyone know how late tintypes were made? All of these portraits are on tin except one of James William and Hepsy Lucinda as young adults. That one is a photograph on cardboard. Karen Dale [email protected]
